## Memories of yesterdays...

I was born May 22nd 1922 in Rocksborough, Pennsylvania and raised in Philadelphia. I enlisted as a paratrooper at the age of 20 in May, 1943. Prior to WWII, I worked for Bendix Aviation (4700 Wissahickon Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19144). Bendix made Aircraft instruments for the US Army (later the Air Force) and had it's headquarters in Los Angeles, CA. The site of the old Bendix plant, if now home to a multi-use office complex using the old Bendix building. I lived 2.8 miles from the plant at 2400 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19132, with my mother Mary Smith. After WW2 I stayed in the military until 1966 when I retired from active duty.
