I was watching film by capt igo/ my former father-in-law was in a combat engineer unit during ww2. He was already in the army when the war started and was shipped out almost immediately ( i believe jan of 42) and was gone for about four full years. he served in africa, sicily, italy, and france. Some of the stories he told me i later read about or had already read about as i was growing up. His name was Shannon Eugene Poague and when i knew him he was living in florence, al. whether this is where he grew up, i do not know. shannon died several years ago, and i am no longer married to his daughter, but i think of him often and have always had nothing but the greatest respect for him, not only because of what he did, but because of the man he was. i would like to know more of his record, and more of the man he was. If you could direct me onto this road, i would be most grateful.
