George Roskos

I am looking for any information about a strange story that I recall my grandfather telling about the war. His name is George Roskos and he was from Brownsville, PA. He told a story about his unit passing another unit on the road, the enemy attacked them- so he and another soldier from the other unit jumped into a bomb hole in the road for cover.
There was a dead mule in the hole too. I don't know if that matters but wdislikever- anyway, after the attack was over, the two men looked at each other only to find out that the other man was my grandfather's brother, Andrew- they didn't know that each other was even alive! This is a remarkable story and I wondered if anyone knows anything else about it? My grandfather and both of my great-uncles that were in the war have passed away and my grandfather was very reluctant to speak of the war. I only know that he was in the Big Red One division under Patton? If anyone could help, I would be very thankful!
