This is the history of one of those many WW ll US Navy Amphibious ships that the Navy Brass deemed expendable and a number would be sufficient identification instead of naming them. In voice communications the LCI ships were referred to as “Elsie Items ”. Ensign R C Haines (deceased) wrote this ships history.
