He was in the 502nd Parachute Infantry before it became a part of the 101st Airborne Division. She was the beautiful Southern girl who stole his heart. From 1942-1944, as he trained at Fort Benning, Fort Bragg, and "Somewhere in England," through D-Day and Operation Market Garden, they wrote of a love that would last forever.
